Players MUST be registered for the 2026 Season to be eligible to tryout.

Players trying out for an older division must send a request to ask@wssa.ca for approval. This is only required if there is a team offered in the lower division.

We would like to be able to offer the Select program to more of our divisions, including boys. If you are interested or know someone interested in coaching or playing, please email ask@wssa.ca.

Notes:

U21 Teams are allowed one over-aged player (birth year 2004)
Players that do not have a select team in their age group and would like to try out are eligible to try out for the division above (for example, U17 boys and girls (2008-2009) are eligible to tryout for U21)
If we have enough interest and the right pieces (ie coaches, pitchers), we are willing to field multiple teams in one division.

Select Program Guidelines:

The Select team is a tournament team that will compete in one-day tournaments, which take place on Saturdays or Sundays throughout the summer plus a 2-day Provincials tournament in August. Select players are required to play House League and will practice through the spring/summer. This higher caliber program builds on the same fundamentals as House League with an increased focus on core skill development and competition. There is an additional Select fee (on top of the House League fee) to cover exhibition games, uniforms, tournaments, etc which typically runs between $250 to $500
In order to be eligible to tryout for a Select team, players must be signed up for House League before the tryout dates. House League Registration Link
Major players may apply for one division up, with the exception of a u13 player applying to u15, as the ball size changes. Players who have played 2+ years with the same team may be grandfathered in. Requests must be sent to the WSSA prior to the tryouts and will be reviewed by the WSSA board of directors.
Tryouts will take place in a ‘top-down’ order, to allow for players who may be interested in trying out for a division up to also try out for their own division.
